In just two weeks’ notice, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar decided step in as a replacement to face “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung at UFC Busan on Saturday. Unfortunately for him, things did not go accordingly for him, as he ended up losing via first-round TKO.
“The Answer” was dropped by a left hand, and ended up underneath Chan’s back control. While he did get the fight back on the feet for a brief moment, he was once again sent to the canvass, which urged the referee to stop the fight.
Edgar is known as a classy competitor in victory and defeat, and it showed in his post-fight statement via Twitter.
