Frankie Edgar’s suprising return to combat sports wasn’t necessarily welcome news to those close to him.
It was recently announced that the former UFC lightweight champion will end his retirement to face Jimmie Rivera at BKFC 82 on Oct. 4 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. “The Answer” ended his UFC career in 2022 on the heels of three consecutive knockout losses.
"My close family definitely was against it," Edgar told MMAjunkie.com. "For sure, my wife, my kids, my parents, but I talked them into it, I guess you could say.
