Four Contender Series contestants potentially facing six-month medical suspensions

An opportunity to fight on the Contender Series doesn’t come without a cost, apparently.

Four fighters who competed on the ESPN+ program this week are potentially facing six-month medical suspensions from competition, including contract winner Brendan Allen. The other three at risk of a lengthy suspension are Armando Villareal, Ricardo Prasel, and Lance Lawrence, all of whom lost their fights.

Allen’s injuries are believed to be to his left shoulder and elbow, while Lawrence is dealing with a possible left orbital fracture, Prasel a possible left jaw fracture, and Villareal a possible right elbow injury. All three can be cleared to return earlier pending examination from a qualified physician.
