Former UFC champ Miletich returns for bout with live crowd, loses to 57-year-old boxer Nunn

“If you’re afraid to come and you don’t want to risk it, don’t come.”

That was long time MMA promoter Monte Cox, addressing the criticism for hosting an event with a live audience during a pandemic.

Despite having around 38,000 cases in the area, the event pushed through Saturday night in Davenport, Iowa, and it featured two fighters way past their primes. 52-year-old former UFC champion Pat Miletich took on 57-year-old former boxing champion Michael Nunn in a kickboxing contest on Saturday night.

Even with the threat of COVID-19, people still attended the show to watch a crossover bout between two of the biggest combat sports stars from Iowa.
