Ethyn Ewing saw his UFC dream materialize a week after he said he would fight for the promotion.
Ewing (9-2) made his Octagon debut on 60 hours’ notice, replacing an injured Cody Haddon against Malcolm Wellmaker at UFC 322. Moving up a weight class at featherweight, Ewing was a massive +440 underdog, the second biggest on the card, against the previously undefeated Wellmaker (10-1). However, Ewing derailed Wellmaker’s hype train by technically outclassing his power punching to earn a massive upset win via unanimous decision.
Ewing scored a first-round knockout win at Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat last week.
