Submission grappling fans are very well acquainted with the Danaher Death Squad. Led by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu wizard John Danaher, the powerhouse team composed of brothers Gordon and Nicky Ryan, Garry Tonon, Eddie Cummings, and Craig Jones dominated the scene with their formidable and patented leglock game.
But all good things, as they say, must come to an end. On Sunday, Danaher himself announced the breakup of his squad in his usual prose-like Instagram posts.
End of an era: It is with great sadness that I have to announce the break up of the squad as a unified training and competition team.
