In exactly two weeks, interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier will take on official champ Khabib Nurmagomedov in a highly anticipated title unification bout at UFC 242. And, not only is Poirier planning on becoming the first man to beat Nurmagomedov, but ‘The Diamond’ has every intention on finishing the undefeated Dagestani on fight night.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the bout, a confident and assertive Poirier said he will finish Khabib by submission or knockout, something which none of Nurmagomedov’s previous opponents have ever come close to achieving.
“I keep going back and forth,” the interim lightweight titleholder said, per Nassir Jabbar of Sport Bible.
