Prior to his fight being booked at UFC 259, Drew Dober was originally expected to face a top-10 ranked opponent in Diego Ferreira but he ended up with Islam Makhachev instead but you’ll hear no complaints out of him about the new matchup.
Currently riding a three-fight win streak with all of his opponents being finished by knockout, Dober has been clamoring for some attention in the ultra-deep lightweight division. While Ferreira would have come along with a higher number next to his name, Dober sees greater value in Makhachev thanks to the attention he’s been receiving while being touted as the next Khabib Nurmagomedov.
