After expressing his desire to take on Derek Brunson in his next bout, the TUF Brazil 2 champion got what he asked for as the UFC’s official website confirmed the pair of middleweights will meet at UFC 227.
Knocked out by Ronaldo Souza in his last outing, Derek Brunson (18-6) was on a two-fight winning streak before the loss, with a couple of KO wins over veterans Lyoto Machida and Daniel Kelly.
Currently on a five-fight winning streak, with four submissions, Antonio Carlos Junior (10-2-1 NC) already defeated the likes of Leonardo Guimaraes, Marvin Vettori, Eric Spicely, Jack Marshman and, most recently, Tim Boetsch.
