At UFC 187, back in May 2015, Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson battled in the main event of the card for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title. That night, Cormier survived Johnson’s early striking power and used his superior grappling to control and eventually submit Johnson in the third round. Since winning the title, Cormier has defended his belt once, against Alexander Gustafsson, and participated in a non-title bout against Anderson Silva at UFC 200.
Now, Cormier will battle Johnson for a second time in the main event of UFC 210 in hopes to defend his belt for a second time.
