Daniel Cormier has nothing to be sorry about. But he’s apologizing anyway.
The former two-division champion suffered a knockout loss this past weekend to Stipe Miocic in the fourth-round of their heavyweight title rematch that capped off an eventful UFC 241 card from Anaheim, California.
Cormier was doing well through the first three rounds, winning the majority of the exchanges and he was up on the scorecards when Miocic adjusted his game plan to begin attacking the body, which ultimately spelled the beginning of the end. Miocic’s constant body work hurt Cormier and the Cleveland native finally put him away with a barrage of punches late in the fourth round.
