Fresh off of his very impressive stoppage win over Japan’s Hironori Mishiro Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. Andy Cruz is set to fight for the IBF lightweight championship. But what Cruz really wants is a showdown with Keyshawn Davis. These two have a very long history with each other and they are not the best of friends at all. Cruz and Davis rivalry goes back a long way, as the Cuban defeated him four times in amateur tournaments, including the Tokyo Olympics and the 2019 World Championships in Ekaterinburg.
For the time being, Cruz desire to fight Davis is going to have to be placed on hold even longer, despite him feeling like he was close to fighting him.
