Cormier considered returning to fight Blachowicz, but ‘that lasted about 15 minutes’

It’s not unusual for a fighter to re-think their retirement once they spend some times on the sidelines, which is why it’s not surprising to hear that Daniel Cormier was considering a comeback after retiring in August.

Cormier (22-3, 1 NC) retired from MMA after losing to Stipe Miocic by decision in their trilogy fight at UFC 252. “DC” was trying to win the light heavyweight title he lost to Miocic the previous year, but after falling short in the trilogy he subsequently removed himself from the UFC’s anti-doping program.

The following month Blachowicz called out Cormier after winning the vacant light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes, and it was at this moment that Cormier considered returning for one more fight, he told MMA Fighting.
