Contender Series weigh-in results: Kevin Syler comes in over six pounds heavy

After badly missing weight, one Dana White’s Contender Series hopeful is going to need to go above and beyond to earn a UFC contract.

Featherweight Kevin Syler hit the scales at the official Contender Series weigh-ins Monday and came in at 152.5 pounds, 6.5 pounds over the division limit (including one-pound allowance). His bout with Lance Lawrence will proceed as scheduled, with Syler forfeiting 30 percent of his purse, per MMA Junkie.

The other nine fighters on Tuesday’s card made weight without issue.

Week 3 of the Contender Series airs tomorrow night on the ESPN+ streaming service.
