Contender Series fighters Anthony Hernandez, Jordan Williams sanctioned for failing drug tests

Two Contender Series fighters just saw their road to the UFC hit a speed bump.

At a meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission on Wednesday, Anthony Hernandez and Jordan Williams were handed identical suspensions and fines after testing positive for marijuana following their appearances on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in June.

The two were both penalized 15 percent of their fight purses (which came out to $750 each) plus $145.36 in attorney fees, their wins on the show will be overturned to no-contests, and they have been suspended six months from competition retroactive to the dates of their last bouts.
