Conor McGregor is currently the biggest star in combat sports. With that popularity, also comes a lot of influence, especially from his home country in Ireland. In an interview with BBC, he was asked about the chances of him using his standing for a possible political position.
It’s something athletes like Manny Pacquiao and NBA’s Kevin Johnson decided to pursue, but it doesn’t seem to interest McGregor at this point.
"I look at politicians and they're almost hated by everyone and I don't want to be in that position,” he said. "I like to help people and do my thing from where I'm at.
