Colby Covington wants to cripple ‘fake’ Kamaru Usman: He’s the CNN of the UFC

Colby Covington has detailed his hopes of fighting Kamaru Usman that date back to 2015, and how he hopes to leave the welterweight champion “crippled” after their fight.

Former interim champ Covington is slated to meet Usman at UFC 244 in November. Talking to MMA Fighting, Covington said he has been targeted a fight with Usman since The Ultimate Fighter season 21, when Usman represented Blackzilians and went on to win the season.

“I can’t wait to bury that guy,” Covington said. “Me and Dan Lambert were calling for that fight as soon as he won “The Ultimate Fighter” and he beat my teammates at American Top Team.
