Former UFC bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt has verbally agreed to meet top contender Rob Font in a five-round main event on May 22.
Multiple people with knowledge of the pending booking confirmed it to MMA Fighting following a report from ESPN.com. The May 22 event’s location has not been confirmed.
Garbrandt gets back to work after snapping a three-bout skid that sapped his stock after taking the title in 2016 from Dominick Cruz. The Team Alpha Male product bounced back this past June with a “Knockout of the Year” candidate against Raphael Assuncao.
