Clay Collard is back in the UFC after he was released from the promotion in 2015. Since then, he has been fighting on the regional scene, where he went 3-1 with three finishes.
When the promotion needed a short-notice replacement to face Devonte Smith at UFC 241 on Saturday, Collard had his wish come true of getting back into the Octagon.
“I started to jump up and down like a little kid,” Collard said to Sherdog.com. “I’ve been pushing my manager to get re-signed. I thought it would be later, but am very happy it is happening now.
