Undefeated lightweight prospect Chris Gonzalez will make his return to the Bellator cage against Luis Vargas at Bellator 226 in San Jose.
Bellator officials confirmed the matchup to MMAFighting.
Gonzalez (2-0), Team Alpha Male’s latest wrestling standout, was last seen earning a decision win in his promotional debut against Charlie Radtke at Bellator 221 in June. Heading into the scrap Gonzalez, a former six-time Greco-Roman All-American, had declared himself “the best wrestler” in MMA.
Vargas (2-3) is looking to get back into the win column after suffering a second round submission to Kaleio Romero under the Combate Americas banner last May.
