By The Numbers: UFC 280

The Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight belt is headed back to Dagestan.

Islam Makhachev beat Charles Oliveira at his own game, forcing the promotion’s all-time submission leader to tap to an arm-triangle choke 3:16 into the second round of the UFC 280 main event at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. With that, Oliveira’s 11-bout winning streak came to an end and the 155-pound division entered a new era under Makhachev, who will attempt to carry on the legacy started by retired teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov.
