Dana White Contender Series alum Brok Weaver was looking to make a strong statement in his first official UFC fight against Kazula Vargas at UFC Rio Rancho. Instead, it ended anti-climactically via disqualification in his favor.
Despite being clearly grounded, Kazula threw a knee to Weaver’s head. The referee immediately stepped in to call the fight, which neither fighter was delighted about.
While he does have a victory on record, Weaver refuses to accept it as a win.
“A win like that, it ain’t no win in my book,” Weaver said in a post-fight interview.
