Brazilians heavyweights Ewerton Teixeira, Vinicius Queiroz set to clash at Bellator 143

The promotion has officially announced that K-1 veteran Ewerton Teixeira will make his Bellator debut against Vinicius Queiroz. The match-up completes the Bellator 143 main card, scheduled for Sept. 25 in Hidalgo, Texas.

Teixeira (3-0) is a black belt in kyokushin karate with an 11-4 record under kickboxing rules, including wins over Jerome Le Banner and Errol Zimmerman. After scoring a KO win in his MMA debut in 2012, the 33-year-old striker scored back-to-back decision wins before signing with Bellator.

Queiroz (7-3) also enters the bout coming off a long layoff, finally healed from a severe knee injury that forced him out of the Bellator heavyweight tournament final in 2013.
