There is a new welterweight champion of Bellator MMA, and his name is Yaroslav Amosov.
The Ukrainian fighter improved his record to 26-0 using a dominant wrestling game to earn a lopsided unanimous decision against Douglas Lima in the main event of Bellator 260 on Friday night. The event welcomed a limited number of fans back to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
The pace started off as more of a feeling out process with the champion landing a pair of hard kicks. Amosov got his first takedown of the fight at the halfway point of the first and stayed heavy on top for the rest of the round as both fighters heard the chants from their fans.
