Both Patricky Freire and Benson Henderson could be facing extended layoffs following their headlining bout at Bellator 183.
Freire must receive doctor clearance for right rib pain or he will be sidelined for 180 days, while Henderson is suspended for the same period of time pending clearance for left rib pain and a left fifth metacarpal dislocation. Bellator 183 took place at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., this past Saturday and saw Freire took a contentious split verdict over Henderson in the evening’s featured bout.
