Bellator 178 Averages 733,000 Viewers, Peaks at 1.033 Million for Freire-Straus Main Event

The fourth meeting between Patricio Freire and Daniel Straus at Bellator 178 drew an average of 949,000 viewers to Spike on Friday night.

According to a release from Spike, the featherweight championship headliner peaked at 1.033 million viewers at 10:38 p.m. ET. Freire submitted Straus with a guillotine choke 37 seconds into the second round of their bout at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

When including +3DVR figures, Bellator 178 drew an average audience of 733,000 viewers to Spike for its four-bout main card. The co-main event saw Ilima-Lei Macfarlane tap Jessica Middleton with an armbar at the 2:15 mark of round one.
