Lightweight champion Will Brooks took home an event-high $72,000 for his successful title defense against Dave Jansen ($12,000) at Bellator 136.

The California State Athletic Commission released salary figures from the event to Sherdog.com on Monday. After a slow start in the first round, Brooks outworked Jansen to capture a unanimous nod in the evening’s headliner, which took place at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, Calif., last Friday.

Other top earners from Bellator 136 include kickboxing star Joe Schilling ($27,000), who dropped a split verdict against Rafael Carvalho ($8,000) in the middleweight co-main event and Marcin Held ($26,000), who submitted Alexander Sarnavskiy ($11,000) via kneebar 1:11 into round three of their featured lightweight encounter.
