Russian light heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov has accepted a two-year suspension for an anti-doping violation in 2017, USADA announced Monday.

Murzakanov tested postive for a steroid metabolite in an out-of-competition urine sample collected on September 2, 2017. According to USADA, the delay in announcing the failed test occurred due to the fighter’s desire to investigate how the banned substance appeared in his system. Murzakanov’s suspension is retroactive to the date of the positive test, so he will be eligible to return on Sept.
