Anthony Smith hears the chatter, he’s just not worrying about it. And he doesn’t think anyone else should either.
Following a lopsided loss to Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC Jacksonville on Wednesday, Smith’s team faced plenty of scrutiny from fans and media who questioned whether his corner should have stepped in to save their fighter, who became increasingly battered as the bout progressed. After round four, Smith was heard on the broadcast telling his corner that his teeth were falling out.
The fight ended 1:04 into round five when referee Jason Herzog waved off the bout following another series of unanswered strikes from Teixeira.
