Another arrest made in alleged murder-for-hire involving MMA fighters Alexis Vila, Ariel Gandulla

On Thursday, Miami-Dade state attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle held a press conference where she outlined the county’s version of a gruesome 2011 murder that they believe was committed by a group that included MMA veterans Alexis Vila-Perdomo and Ariel Gandulla.

As a wrestler Vila-Perdomo, 47, represented his native Cuba at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. In 2004 Vila-Perdomo drove a car into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. He served three years in prison for ‘airport violence.’ Between 2007 and 2016 he fought professionally for promotions such as Bellator MMA and World Series of Fighting. He was charged with murder in April.
