One-time Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s bantamweight title challenger Alexis Davis will not compete again until late 2016, but for good reason.
The 30-year-old Canadian announced on her official Instagram account Tuesday morning that she is expecting a child with husband Flavio Meier.
“Big news to announce today a slight delay in my return to the octagon,” said Davis. “I planned on spending as much time back home as possible to help with my niece anyways. But we are over joyed by this news and should be expecting our new arrival early 2016!”
Davis (17-6) is 4-1 in the UFC, with wins against Sarah Kaufman, Jessica Eye, Liz Carmouche and Rosi Sexton.
