Having finally made its debut in Russia last year, the UFC’s second appearance in that country now has its main event.
The Yubileyny Sports Complex in St. Petersburg will play host to a Fight Night card on April 20th, with Alexander Volkov and Alistair Overeem as the headliner. UFC officials made the announcement on Friday.
Volkov (30-7) will look to get back on track after a stunning last-minute KO loss vs. Derrick Lewis at UFC 229 in October. The former Bellator heavyweight champion was well on his way to victory when Lewis caught him with his vaunted power in the closing seconds, leading to a dramatic defeat.
