After Questioning Drive to Compete, Rory MacDonald Expects to Face Neiman Gracie at Bellator NYC

Shortly after Rory MacDonald learned he had advanced in Bellator’s welterweight grand prix by virtue of a majority decision against Jon Fitch, he sounded like a man that was ready to step away from the sport.

“It’s hard to pull the trigger,” he said during a post-fight interview in the cage following the Bellator 220 main event. “I don’t have that killer instinct. It’s hard to explain. It takes a certain spirit to come in here and put a man through pain, and I don’t know if I have that same drive to hurt people anymore.
