After Breaking Foot at UFC 320, Alex Pereira Plans for Massive June Return

The newly minted Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight champ is going to take a little time off and then it’s full speed ahead.

During the UFC Rio press conference prior to the ceremonial weigh-ins, Alex Pereira (13-3) was asked about several things ranging from his prospective injury to his next opponent options. “Poatan” explained that he did break his foot when facing Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320. While Pereira prevailed by stoppage in 80 seconds, the timetable for his return is still uncertain.

“I did an X-Ray in Las Vegas and an MRI here and we have a fracture on my foot,” Pereira said, transcription via MMA Fighting.
