Abel Trujillo will appeal loss to Gleison Tibau in Brazil

In the preliminary portion of UFC Fight Night 77 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Nov. 7, Trujillo vs. Tibau was over at 1:45 of the first round, when referee Keith Peterson stopped the contest believing that the Blackzilians fighter went out due to a rear-naked choke.

Trujillo immediately protested when the referee stopped the fight, and Tibau later admitted he didn’t feel his opponent tap.

Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) chairman Rafael Favetti told MMAFighting.com on Sunday that the commission would only review the result if Trujillo appealed the decision, and that’s what his team did.
