Abel Trujillo plans on appealing controversial loss to Gleison Tibau

Abel Trujillo plans on appealing his controversial submission loss to Gleison Tibau from this past weekend in Brazil.

Abel Trujillo was submitted by Gleison Tibau this past weekend at UFC Fight Night 77 in Brazil, but the result was somewhat controversial. Referee Keith Peterson thought the Blackzilians fighter went unconscious but in actuality he did not.

According to MMAFighting.com, Trujillo and his camp are planning on appealing the submission loss. They requested the paperwork required for doing so from the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA).

When the appeal is filed, however, the commission will contact referee Peterson and if he says he believes the right call was made, they won't review the fight and appeal.
