Surging welterweight contender Kamaru Usman probably would’ve wanted a top-10 opponent for his next bout, but it looks as if he’ll be facing another unranked foe. After a report from Farah Hannoun, MMA Fighting confirmed that Usman vs. Emil Weber Meek is expected to take place at UFC 219 on December 30th.
The #11-ranked Usman (11-1) is undefeated in the UFC, and he’s coming off a spectacular first-round KO of Sergio Moraes at last month’s UFC Pittsburgh. The 29-year-old also holds notable wins over Warlley Alves, Sean Strickland, and Leon Edwards.
