13-Time UFC Veteran Announces Retirement

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship competitor Cynthia Calvillo is hanging up the four-ounce gloves.

The 38-year-old Californian announced her retirement in a statement on social media. Calvilllo’s last MMA bout occurred in September 2024, when she defeated Lisa Kyriacou to captured the Hex Fight Series flyweight championship.

“It’s time to say goodbye to a sport that I gave everything to and that I loved so much,” Calvillo wrote on Instagram. “I wasn’t ready to let it go just yet, but life and opportunities that fizzled out has led me to pursue the next chapter in my life.
