A point would have been a massive result for Mexico against World Champions Germany in their opening 2018 World Cup fixture on Sunday. A win seemed far out of sight against a superior German squad on paper and a point against such a team would have felt like a victory.
However, the impossible happened, with Mexico taking a 1-0 win in remarkable fashion.
After putting Germany to the test in the opening half hour, Mexico found the breakthrough in the 35th minute when Hirving Lozano powered a shot near post past Manuel Neuer.
