Kianz Froese will be taking the next step of his career in Germany. Vancouver Whitecaps announced this week that the 20-year-old Homegrown midfielder will be joining Fortuna Düsseldorf.
The Whitecaps will receive a match played bonus, as well as a percentage of any future transfer fees.
This won’t be Froese’s first trip to Germany, however. He also had a trial with Kaiserslautern in August 2016.
Despite showing early promise, Froese was never able to cement a position for himself in the Whitecaps side. He made two starts in 15 appearances in MLS play over the last two seasons.
