The U.S. Women’s National Team made history. They defended their World Cup. On Sunday, against European Champions, the Netherlands, the USWNT displayed their unquestioned quality, easing to a 2-0 victory.
Megan Rapinoe converted from the penalty spot for his sixth of the tournament, before Rose Lavelle scored a lovely goal, gracefully bursting from midfield, swerving past a defender and smashing a shot into the goal. And that, in the end, was that. Greatness.
