Already qualified for the knockout stages of the Gold Cup, the United States Men’s National Team finished the Group Stage strong with another clean sheet and three points against Panama.
Starting with a 4-0 win over Guyana and a 6-0 thrashing of Trinidad and Tobago, Gregg Berhalter and company finished off the opening stages of the Gold Cup with a 1-0 win courtesy of a Jozy Altidore overhead kick in the 66th minute.
Berhalter sent out a very different line-up that has had such great success against lesser competition, making 11 changes to a team that was captained by Omar Gonzalez for Wednesday’s game against Panama at Children’s Mercy Park.
