USMNT: New position in FIFA Rankings ahead of WCQ

In Bruce Arena’s first USMNT camp, the squad had a 0-0 draw against Serbia, followed by a 1-0 win over Jamaica. Neither result was going to make the team look favorably, and the FIFA Rankings reflect that.

In the updated March 2017 rankings, the US fell one spot from 29th to 30th. They were passed by Senegal, who rose three positions, losing to Cameroon on penalties in the quarterfinals of the African Cup of Nations earlier this year.

The US is now considered (by FIFA) firmly the third best team in CONCACAF.
