Teams and fans often overlook the US Open Cup, but don’t forget the winner gets not only the trophy, but a spot in the 2017 – 2018 CONCACAF Champions League. Wednesday night the eight remaining teams take to the field to via for a place in the semi-finals.
The semifinal matches are set to take place on Wednesday, July 20th. The competition is starting to heat up as team are starting to push for the elusive Lamar Hunt Trophy this season. There are seven MLS teams in the final eight and one club from the NASL. Here are my predictions for the four games:
Philadelphia Union @ New England Revolution
The Union topped the Red Bulls in the round of 16, and had a two goal comeback against them on Sunday as well.
