After six winless matches saw Toronto FC fall off the pace at the sharp end of the Eastern Conference, the Reds hosted a battered and bruised Sporting Kansas City on Friday night with a terrific chance of claiming a victory.
Sporting KC, meanwhile, are simply trying to survive, staying in contact with the Western playoff places while they deal with a slew of injuries to key players, especially across the back and forward lines. The 2-2 draw, then, helps neither.
