Toronto FC Vs D.C. United: 3 things we learned – 35 shots, no goals

Toronto FC hosted D.C. United on Wednesday night hoping to put right their recent poor form. Losses to the Portland Timbers, Atlanta United and the Philadelphia Union put the Reds slightly off the pace at the top of the Eastern Conference entering the huge midweek tilt against D.C.

Greg Vanney would have been buoyed by his team’s performance. 35 shots, more than 70% of the possession, complete control of the match. He would not, though, be buoyed by the result, a slum 0-0 draw that leaves Toronto seven points behind their opponents, although they do have two games in hand.
