Toronto FC Vs Atlanta United: 3 things we learned – Alejandro Pozuelo the star again

Toronto FC delighted supporters with their hard-fought, dramatic victory over Atlanta United last night at BMO Field.

Despite going into halftime tied at two apiece, Toronto FC looked more balanced than usual by sitting back and looking to hit Atlanta on the break through Jacob Shaffelburg. The Five Stripes responded to the Reds’ game plan by ceding possession and dropping off into a 4-4-2 mid to low-block to prevent TFC from exploiting wide areas.

Frank de Boer’s side became increasingly conservative as the game wore on, switching to a 5-3-2 low-block in the latter stages of the second half.
