Sebastian Giovinco entered 2018 on a high note after a successful postseason run saw Toronto FC claim their first Major League Soccer title in club history. The Italian midfielder had put up impressive numbers in 2017 by registering 16 goals and six assists in the regular season. Having reached double digits in goals every one of this MLS seasons, it was an afterthought to think he would not reach 10 goals or more in 2018.
Very quickly. a harsh reality set in that not every season can be replicated. Giovinco struggled to find the back net for the first two months of the season and was finally able to get on the goal sheet in early May.
