Frankie Amaya is headed to the New York Red Bulls, the FC Cincinnati midfielder ending an offseason of discontent by landing with an accomplished MLS side.

Amaya, a central midfielder with a high work rate, is heading to the New York Red Bulls as part of a blockbuster deal. According to a source close to the situation, Amaya was acquired in exchange for “roughly $1.2 million in General Allocation Money (GAM) and Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).” The move lands Amaya in a perfect situation as part of an organization where pressing and counter-pressing have become engrained in their DNA.
