“We’ve been Geiger’d” is sadly becoming more and more of a saying in Seattle. On Sunday, the Sounders played extremely well against Supporters’ Shield leaders FC Dallas, probably playing the better of the two teams for the majority of the game. That isn’t shown by the scoreline, though, which reads an FC Dallas 2-1 win. Take nothing away from Carlos Ruiz’ 89th-minute game winner, which was an incredible finish, but Seattle arguably should have been 2-0 up at that point if it wasn’t for Mark Geiger.
Early in the first half, it look like Herculez Gomez score the opening goal of the game.
